Travels with Penny Blog Tour, Giveaway and Top 10!!!!

Travels Cover Title: Travels with Penny
Author: David Alan Morrison
Publication Date: April 2015
Publisher: Booktrope

Two things flashed through my mind when I opened the door to the sex shop to find my mother standing in front of the display case talking to a tall salesman wearing a leather harness, jock strap and a dog collar. The first was, "Oh, crap." The second was, "I hate when Dad's right."

Following the sudden death of his father, a single, middle-aged gay guy struggles with his own mortality be reminiscing about the travels with his gregarious mother. It is a look at the transformation of the baffling, complex relationship between children and their parents.

Twin Flames by Lexi Ander

A Brief Summary:
Your twin flame is the other half of your soul, the person that you try and find every time you reincarnate. Tristan was betrayed by his flame, something that has never happened in the history of twin flames, so he requested to have the bond broken. Now he lives a solitary life with his boyhood friend Ushna but their simple life is about to change, forever.

My Review:
This was such an amazing intro to this series. You start off with the breaking of a bond that should be sacred but has been neglected. Then you see Tristan as he discovers who he truly is, and what lengths he will go to, to protect what he cares about.

The book has an incredibly developed world and mythology. Including a full pantheon of Gods and Goddesses, don't worry you get a cheat sheat of them at the back of the book. Also the main characters are Lycans *werewolves* with quirks unique to their species, a hierarchy, and a monarchy that is thought to be dissolved.

I love the relationship between Tristan and Ushna. How it changes for Ushna being Tristans protector to well you're just going to have to wait and see now won't you?

The first book is more of a novella but I have high hopes the next books in the series are longer.

This book has graphic sex scenes between two men so if you're not into that this series isn't for you.

I recieved this book from NetGalley in exchange for my free and honest review.

Everything Changes by Samantha Hale

Raven has never had a boyfriend, not that she hasn't been asked. She's just not into guys, period. It, however, is something she's never admitted, even to herself. Meeting Morgan changes everything, it's her first really crush. Now she has to admit what she feels, to herself, Morgan, and everyone she cares about.

This is a really great coming out story. Raven goes from lying to everyone including herself, to being comfortable enough to come out for who she is. I love how realistic the story is. Everything is raw and real, not rose tinted. People react poorly, you feel ashamed, you get mad and depressed and angry it happens. Raven is a real person, and I love that. I'd love to read more from her perspective, to see more of what happens in her life.

This book is going to be published on September 1st and I will let you guys know as it gets closer as it is definitely worth the read.

I received this book compliments of NetGalley for my review which I freely and honestly give.

Jacob, King of Portalia by Casey Clubb

All Jacob wants is to blend in, play in the orchestra, and not to have his secret found out. For the last several years he and his best friend Sammy have spent his birthday weekend in the clubhouse his father built. This year whilst playing a new song for Sammy something strange happened. A portal to another land appeared, the land where Jacobs father was from. Where he was also king and now as his father has died Jacob must take over the kingship from his uncle. Simple enough right?

I really enjoy that this book is about overcoming fears about who you are and fears in gereral. Also that it's a book geared towards preteens/ teens about being gay and as an LGBT ally I love it and think more books should be this brave and write about this. Every character in this has a major character flaw, and they work so hard to better themselves because of it.

This is a great book for middle school and up. It touches on some very sensitive subjects. Such as coming out as gay, and being who you truly are. This books shows Jacob's pain and emotions very clearly making it powerful and very realistic.

I received this books compliments of NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my review which I freely and honestly give.

This book is going to be released on September  16. I'll post a heads up as the date gets closer.
